The Wilmington Chicken

A little wit, humor, and a bit of sarcasm thrown in for good measure.

Commentary about baseball from the chicken.

FISH FRY. PHILS WIN IN TENTH.

A big walk-off single by Carlos Ruiz in the tenth inning gives the Phllies a five game lead over the Braves and drops the Marlins to ten and a half games back.

Another big game for Chase Utley who had two hits and two RBIs and batting .359 over his last ten games.

Roy Halladay pitched seven strong innings allowing four earned runs while striking out eight. Halladay kept the Phils close and the trio of Stutes, Bastardo and Madson shut the door.

In the tenth inning Ryan Howard was hit by a pitch followed by a Polanco flyout and Ibanez strikeout. Domonic Brown walked and Carlos Ruiz came to the plate with men on first and second. A single up the middle and Ryan Howard ran for home. The big boy can move. Game over.

Turn the fire up. I’m hungry for fried fish today.
