The Wilmington Chicken

A little wit, humor, and a bit of sarcasm thrown in for good measure.

Commentary about baseball from the chicken.

LOSE ONE. WIN ONE. COUNTDOWN TO ALL-STAR BREAK.

The Phils lost the last game of the Boston series but won the opener of their series with the Blue Jays.

After losing Hamels to a linedrive off the bat of Adrian Gonzalez the Phils bullpen gave the game to the Sox.

The Phillies came back twice to beat the Blue Jays with a so-so performance by Kyle Kendrick. KK pitched seven innings but gave up two, two-run homers and surrendered the lead in the seventh. The Phillies scored two runs in the top of the ninth to win the game.

Today is a Halladay in Canada. After yesterday’s Canada Day celebration the Canucks get another day to celebrate there national hero, Roy Halladay. To play twelve years with one team…that deserves special attention.

Should be a great game. Phils close out this series on Sunday. They play the Marlins beginning Monday and finish the first half with a series against the second place Braves who are four games back.

Will the Phils hold their lead through the All-Star break?
