This is it. The Phillies have a three game lead on the Atlanta Braves. The Phillies need to win one game to stay ahead of the Braves through the All-Star Break.
If the Phillies manage to win two of three they’ll be four games ahead of the Braves.
The Braves have hung with the Phillies for months. The Phils had a five game lead as recent as 10 days ago. With all the injuries it’s amazing the Phillies have the best record in baseball. The Braves have the second best record, slightly ahead of the Yankees and Red Sox.
If the Phils can maintain their lead, there’s a good chance they’ll create distance between themselves and their division rivals as their injured players come off the DL. But it looks like the Braves could win the Wild Card as teams in the Central and West divisions struggle to stay above .500
It’s been a great first half. Lets hope the Phillies finish on a high note.
